The C method and C & C functions are inherited from the L module. =head2 Methods =over 4 =item $event = Win32::Event->new([$manual, [$initial, [$name]]]) Constructor for a new event object. If C<$manual> is true, you must manually reset the event after it is signalled (the default is false). If C<$initial> is true, the initial state of the object is signalled (default false). If C<$name> is omitted or C, creates an unnamed event object. If C<$name> signifies an existing event object, then C<$manual> and C<$initial> are ignored and the object is opened. If this happens, C<$^E> will be set to 183 (ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS). =item $event = Win32::Event->open($name) Constructor for opening an existing event object. =item $event->pulse B Consult Microsoft's documentation for C for details. Signal the C<$event> and then immediately reset it. If C<$event> is a manual-reset event, releases all threads currently blocking on it. If it's an auto-reset event, releases just one thread. If no threads are waiting, just resets the event. It returns a true value if successful, or zero on failure (additional error information can be found in C<$^E>). =item $event->reset Reset the C<$event> to nonsignalled. It returns a true value if successful, or zero on failure (additional error information can be found in C<$^E>). =item $event->set Set the C<$event> to signalled. It returns a true value if successful, or zero on failure (additional error information can be found in C<$^E>). =item $event->wait([$timeout]) Wait for C<$event> to be signalled. See L. =back =head1 DIAGNOSTICS None. =head1 CONFIGURATION AND ENVIRONMENT Win32::Event requires no configuration files or environment variables. It runs under 32-bit or 64-bit Microsoft Windows, either natively or under Cygwin. =head1 DEPENDENCIES L =head1 INCOMPATIBILITIES Prior to version 1.06, Win32::Event treated C values differently. In version 1.06 and later, passing C as the value of an optional parameter is the same as omitting that parameter. In previous versions, C was interpreted as either the empty string or 0 (along with a warning about "Use of uninitialized value..."). =head1 BUGS AND LIMITATIONS No bugs have been reported. =head1 AUTHOR Christopher J.
